Baseline Positions are Missing Purchase Data

Considerations

If your brokerage was unable to provide the acquisition date and/or cost for the securities you purchased prior to registering for this service, use this page to enter this information for each security listed.

Procedure

To enter the Acquisition Date and/or Cost from the Check-Up page:

1. Click the Show button next to the Baseline positions are missing purchase data alert. The Initial Baseline Process page displays.

2. For each position, enter the Purchase Date and/or Total Cost and click Save. If the shares were a result of multiple purchase transactions with different acquisition date and cost, click the Break out by Lot button.

3. If you do not know the total cost, click the BasisPro™ button to access the cost basis tool in order to calculate cost basis. BasisPro™ looks back historically at corporate actions in order to calculate an accurate cost basis.

4. To leave this page, click the I'll Finish Later button and you are returned to the main Check-Up page.

Click any of the links below to view additional information on the selected field.

• Symbol

  This column contains the ticker symbol of the security.

• SecType

  This column contains the type of security. Stock, for example.

• Shares/Contracts

  This column contains the number of shares or contracts.

• Account

  This column contains the account number of the transaction missing baseline information.

• Purchase Date (mm/dd/yyyy)

  This column contains the date the security was purchased.

• Total Cost as of Baseline Date

  Enter the Total Cost as of the Baseline Date in this column.

• Use BasisPro

  Click this button to use BasisPro to calculate cost basis.

• Break out Lot

  Click the Break-out Lot button if the shares were a result of multiple purchase transactions with different acquisition dates and cost.
