Question
Why do I see a blank rectangle when trying to view accounts?
Answer
GainsKeeper's site uses a Java applet to View Accounts data. Java applets are run by your browser's Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
If you would prefer not to view your accounts using java, you can edit your settings to view the accounts using HTML. View Accounts Settings is located on the My Settings tab of GainsKeeper, or you can click on the View Accounts Settings link from your Overview page in GainsTracker.
This page tests to see if the JVM™ is working on your computer. This test applet, written with Java™ technology, displays information about your operating system, the JVM version. If you can see the dancing Duke logo™ image animated in the applet above, then the JVM is functioning correctly.
If you are seeing a blank rectangle or an error message or if you can't see the holdings details you need to download and to install the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) by clicking msjavx86.exe. Choose to Save the file to your computer. Once saved to your computer, double-click the file to install the JVM and fix your IE browser. Before installing the Microsoft JVM, please remove all Java environments you installed on your computer before.
