Import QIF File

Procedure

  1. Export your trades from Quicken or Money.

To export your transactions (buys, sells, shorts, and covers) from Quicken or Money, start your desktop software and export your Transactions to a QIF file. Use the software's File>Export>QIF feature and be sure to select both the Transactions and Security Lists checkboxes during the export to Quicken.

  1. Import the QIF file into your GainsKeeper portfolio.

Select the account to which to import the QIF file from the Import into Account drop-down list. Then enter the file name of the QIF file to import in the QIF File to Import field. You can also click the Browse button to search for the appropriate file.

  1. Click the Start Import button to begin importing the QIF file into the selected account.

Note: After clicking the Start Import button, it may take a few moments to upload the QIF file to GainsKeeper's servers.
