Identical/Duplicate Trades

Considerations

If this alert displays on the Check-Up page, it means that there are identical trades in your portfolio that require your attention. If you confirm the trade is a duplicate by comparing it to the information on your brokerage statement, then you can delete the trade. If you cannot confirm it is a duplicate trade, do not delete it. It is entirely possible to have valid trades with identical information. In some cases, brokerages can split your order into several pieces to process.

Procedure

To delete a duplicate trade from the Check-Up page:

  1. Enter a date to view duplicate trades after in the field provided next to the Identical/Duplicate Trades after alert. Click the Update button.

  2. Click the Show button next to the Identical/Duplicate Trades after alert. The Check-Up: Identical Transactions page displays. The grid at the bottom of the page contains all of the duplicate trades, that were encountered in your portfolio, from the date specified through today's date.

Note: To view duplicate trades based on a customized date range, click the Customized Date Range link. Enter the Date From and the To date, along with the security Symbol in the fields that display. Click GO to view the duplicate trades for the customized date range.

  1. Once you have confirmed a trade is a duplicate, select the checkbox to the left of that trade.

  2. Click Delete.
