If you received the investment as a gift, the BasisPro™ calculator cannot be used to calculate the correct cost.

Inheritance

If you inherited the investment, enter the date of death of the person you inherited it from into BasisPro™. This is required because when investments are inherited, their cost basis changes to the closing price on the date of death.
