How do I import trade data from MS Money or Quicken?
Answer
You can import your initial transactions from MS Money or Quicken into your GainsKeeper account. All subsequent imports should be completed from your brokerage. Importing additional transactions from MS Money or Quicken will result in the loss of you initial data.

Import into GainsKeeper from MS Money
Procedure
Open MS Money or log into your MSN account.
Click the Taxes menu tab at the top of the page.
Click on the link for the free 30 day trial for GainsKeeper. This is found under the Capital Gains heading.
If you have already set up your GainsKeeper account, click Login Now and enter your MSN account information to login. If you need to set up your new GainsKeeper account, click the Sign Up Today link and proceed through the prompts to set up your account.
Click on the Record Trades menu tab and select Import MSN Portfolio Data from the first set of import options.
Select the tax year you are beginning with and click Continue.
You will be presented with a review file for the trades MSN is sending. Once you have reviewed the trades in the list for accuracy, click the Import Data button at the bottom of the page.
Procedure
Create a QIF file using the instructions outlined on Quicken's site at: http://web.intuit.com/support/quicken/2005/win/1174.htm.
Click on the Record Trades menu tab and select Import QIF File from the first set of import options.
Click the Browse button to locate and attach your QIF file.
Click the Start Import button.
You will be presented with a review file for the trades MSN is sending. Once you have reviewed the trades in the list for accuracy, click the Import Data button at the bottom of the page.
