Considerations
Use this page to manually record a last in, first out (LIFO) sell transaction for a bond.
Click one of the icons above to view either a list of the transactions available for that category, or click the Baseline Holdings icon to access the Add New Baseline Holdings page.
Procedure
From the Manually Record Trades page, click the Bond icon to access the Bond - Record Transaction page. From this page, select Sell LIFO from the Action drop-down list. The Bond - Record Sell LIFO Transaction page displays.
Select the account to which to record this transaction, from the In Account drop-down list. If you only have one account, this drop-down list is not displayed.
By default, the Action on this page is set to Sell LIFO. To change this, select a different transaction from the Action drop-down list. The fields that display depend on the transaction that is selected. To record a sell transaction, using the Specific ID method, enter a Bond - Record Sell by ID transaction.
Enter the date of the transaction in the Transaction Date (mm/dd/yyyy) field. You can also click the Calendar icon and select the appropriate transaction date from the calendar that displays.
Enter the 9-digit CUSIP of the bond in the field provided. You can then click Verify to confirm you have entered the correct CUSIP for the bond.
Select the type of security from the Security Type drop-down list. By default, this field is set to Bond for this transaction.
Enter the quantity sold in the Quantity field. By default, the face value of the bond is set to $1000. You can manually update the amount in this field if the bond you are selling has a face value other than $1000.
Enter the Price of the bond in the field provided. Bonds price at a percentage of the face value. For example, 25 is 25% of the $1000 face value, or $250. For bond pricing at 100, enter 100 in the Price field. Do not convert this to the $1000 face value amount.
To calculate the Total Proceeds of the transaction, do one of the following:
Select the Price radio button - Enter the Price of the bond and the Commission amount + All Fees in the fields provided. Once you have entered this information, click the Calculate Total Proceeds button. The result displays in the Total Proceeds field.
Select the Total Proceeds radio button - If you select this radio button, the Total Proceeds field becomes active and the Calculate Total Proceeds button is no longer displayed. Enter the total proceeds of the trade in the field provided. Be sure to subtract the total commission amount and any fees.
To record the Sell LIFO transaction, click the Record button. To record the transaction and continue to enter additional transactions, click the Record & Repeat button. To leave this page, without recording the transaction, click the Cancel button.
